✨ What is Gaiofanhack?
A simple, creative, slightly crazy event: an overnight jam to build video games inspired by the Gaiofana neighbourhood, with whatever technology, style or idea comes to mind.
Text-based or graphical, 2D or 3D, serious or surreal: anything goes, as long as it speaks about our neighbourhood — even just in your own way.

👾 How does it work?
We meet at sunset at the former primary school of Gaiofana (Via Montescudo 288, Rimini).
- Teams are formed (or confirmed) — max 4 people, but you can also take part on your own
- Workstations are set up
- We draw a few random elements that must be included in your game
- And off we go!
Everyone works, collaborates, rests or eats at their own pace. No obligation to stay awake or glued to the chair. If you want to bring a camping mat for a nap between one commit and the next, you are one of us.

- Right in front of the former school there are a café and a pizzeria (within their opening hours)
- Inside you will find fresh water, snacks and a few surprises
- At dawn, group breakfast at the café (on us!) and game submission
🏆 Jury & prizes
An independent jury of expert gamers, creatives and local sages of Gaiofana will vote on the projects.
The prizes? Symbolic and unpredictable. Don't take part to win: take part for the joy of playing, creating and sharing.

💳 How much does it cost?
Participation is completely free! Only online pre-registration is required, because seats are limited.
🎨 Do I need to know how to code?
Programmers are of course essential: without someone writing code there is no game. But a team has room for other roles too — ideas and story, graphics, sound, characters, or deep knowledge of the neighbourhood. If you want to contribute, you will find your place.
💾 Can I prepare code or assets in advance?
Yes, in fact it's recommended! But remember: the elements announced at the start of the night must play a key role in your game — leave room for the unexpected!
👤 Can I take part on my own?
Yes! You can come alone, with a friend or with a ready-made team. If you like, you can join others right at the start of the event.
🧒 Is there a minimum age?
Not formally, but it is an overnight, unsupervised event: if you are under 18 you must come accompanied.
🖥️ Should I bring my own computer?
Yes! We provide tables, chairs, power outlets, WiFi and a bit of atmosphere. You bring your laptop, chargers, headphones and everything you need to create.
💤 Can I sleep there?
Yes — if you want to rest, bring a camping mat or a pillow and find a quiet corner. Fair warning: it is all very spartan!
